Andy and Chris each have had an experienced background in knife making, working for a legendary knife company, Marbles, for several years. Don Hess, himself, had an impressive hobby in woodworking and knowledge of many woods. Together they took their talents and started making high quality custom knives out of their garage mostly for hobby. However, demand for their knives grew, bringing about Hess Knife Works.
Each knife made by Hess Knife Works is handmade from the highest quality of woods. All handles are hand selected to ensure that each is free of any defects. Blades are made from high quality 1095 carbon, cryogenically treated to a hardness of 58-60 C. Fillets and hatchets are made with 440c stainless steel. All sheaths are handmade from the highest quality leather. From the blade to the handle, and to all other components, they are all made in the USA.
